So this is my first project according to the trends for the winter, even though it is definitely not made to wear in winter, unless your winter is warm or you wear a nice jacket over or a thin long-sleeve under it. I guess you will have a great styling idea. If you don’t like polka-dots you can of course use any elastic material you like.
bias binding is a strip of fabric cut in a 45° angle to the selvage (or grain line/thread line), because of that it is a little stretchy even when the fabric normally isn’t elastic
español: cinta al biés
française: biais (servant á recouvrir le bord d’une pièce)
italiano: striscia (tagliata) di sbieco
Somehow, even though I can’t remember we had a real summer, in Germany fall/autumn has started, reminding me it will be winter soon. I did some research what is becoming a trend next winter and planned according to that list some new projects. So to keep you curious these are my planned projects. Read the rest of this entry
so, after some cold days came some warm days, so I did a shorter version of the long skirt. Its also more in summer colors, bright blue with a flower print. I personally love flowers, if you don’t its no problem at all, you just pick any fabric you like, for the summer feeling take some jersey or light fabric, but of course it is also possible with denim or anything you can think of… I get new ideas already.
I did that skirt in the middle of july, because it was really cold in Berlin. I used loden, thats a woolen material you often see used in wintercoats. Loden has little hairs standing out of the fabric, thats why its very important you cut every template of the pattern in the same direction or the parts can look different in color and appearance.
