1 afternoon = first tank top
Heyhey,
its fun to sew fast and easy things, because you have quick results:) and this tank top turned out very well, I love it! This one is made out of a nice jersey that doesn’t stretch out when being sewn, but I will do one of other fabric soon, and show you how I prevent that wavy seams.
Also it fits the body great, but I have some fabric that does not stretch as much, so those I will give some more cm at the side-seams. But first, how I did this one:
weekly challenge 5: forget about it
heyhey,
I know that title sounds weird, it is based on me not feeling so positive myself at the moment, even though the weather finally gets better here
I have for quite a while already trouble with one of my knees, nothing serious but I shouldn’t move it to much so it can heal properly and not moving is a problem for me
since I am a person always moving. I normally do a lot of sports, also because it keeps me calm. So now not moving makes me annoyed with myself and my knee and people. Its not like they did anything bad, normally I probably would have laughed, but at the moment I am not as relaxed and it hurt me. So I kept myself busy this weekend to help me forget about it and get back to my more positive self and I am still working on it.
What do you do to forget about something that bothered you? I am open to any suggestions!
On wednesday I have a free day so I will do something that always makes me happy: shopping for fabrics
well I try to walk as little as possible so it really will make me happy and not hurt my knee;) I will be trying to do all my challenges and am open to any other suggestions. I keep you updated next weekend, hopefully more positive again, with a new challenge for you.

1 weekend 10 tops
heyhey,
what did you do this weekend?
I did 10 tops, really easy and quick ones. My next plans: Sewing fitting tank-tops to create layering looks with different or same fabrics. Well for now I am happy I managed to finish the tops.
and I love them. I bought special paper I can print on and what I printed I can iron on fabrics, as you can see I tried that with my logo. You can see that the blue ink in my printer is empty, so its only pink
looks interesting, too.
upcycled long-sleeve with braided spirals
heyhey,
so another easy, quick upcycle without needing a sewing machine. So if you have a long-sleeve you don’t wear anymore and think its boring, maybe you would like to wear it more often after braiding spirals around it.
I made all my garments-outfit
Heyhey,
today I only wear garments I made myself:) well, the long-sleeve I only dyed and braided the waistline.
The jacket is a part of the suit that I sewed for my tailoring exam, long before the blog and I could
never have taken pictures while an exam, so I don’t have a tutorial for it, but I have jackets planned to do soon. The pants are also sewn long ago, they are based on a burda-pattern which I modified quite a bit
I hope you like my look.

70s styling
Heyhey,
so I watched a lot of charlie’s angels lately and other 70s movies I wont tell you about, because its a little embarrassing that I like them.
Well thats the look that I created of all that inspiration, of course its not as elegant as charlie’s angels, I really don’t know how they do it
Long-sleeve: Spiral
Vest: from my last minute costumes ideas
Skirt: my favorite winter-skirt
boots: bonprix
the hat doesn’t have a name inside and I don’t remember where I bought it

weekly challenge 4: think positive
Hey,
so who had a sore belly because of all the laughing last week?
The next challenge wont give you any soreness: Try to control what you are thinking. Every time you catch yourself thinking something bad about other people, yourself, the weather, the situation or anything else, try to think about something positive instead. Something you look forward too or something you are grateful for, even though you sometimes forget about it, or find at least something neutral to think about. For me its often: what I want to sew next, always makes me more positive;) or I try to remember a nice book or story or something positive that happened to a friend or my family. Actually that mostly works that well that I am walking around smiling, because I chuckle inside
.
You need to find a way that works for you, but start by watching what you are thinking.

my batwing/dolman sleeve sewn with a normal sewing machine
Hey,
as promised my batwing sleeve I did without a serger, but with a normal sewing machine. That is only possible with fabrics that does not (or only a little bit) fray. I used the straight stitching my machine calls elastic, but actually it is just jumping back and forward and by that doing every stitch 3 times. This top is loose so there is no need to have elastic seams, but of course a double stitching prevents the seams from ripping apart to easy, so this worked fine for me, if your fabric frays a little also sew with zigzag on the seam allowance. This pictures are mostly as proof for you that it works great with a normal sewing machine as well (only on the inside it does not look as professional as the other one, but normal the inside cant be seen, so… who cares?) blue and rainbows
Heyhey,
so I was worried today, because when I ordered this lovely fabric ((by riley blake) found in the dawanda-store of myo baby) I wrote the wrong house-number in my address, but luckily for me the postman knew my name and brought it to the right house. Isn’t that great?
Well I think this will be such a great fabric for a baby garment, looking forward to that project. Blue and rainbows was the wish of the soon-to-be father, a friend of mine. Maybe I have enough left over to use for a cute look-alike toy.
I’ll show you what I create of it

another batwing/dolman sleeve
Heyhey,
so here comes my new batwing/dolman sleeve idea! It would almost work as a dress. This one I only did with a serger, but I already made one just with sewing machine, for fabrics that does not fray much that works just fine, but for the bigger knit fabric I used, the serger was and is the better choice. I’ll post a few pictures to the other variation soon.
With the knit fabric I fell in love a while ago and had to buy one meter, that wasn’t enough for this top, you need at least 10 cm more then that, so this top got 5cm shorter then planned, but it fits great anyway
. That happens if you work with fabric you already have. The crazy print I found a while ago as a cheaper rest and it looked so much fun.
Well I hope you like it, too. Let me know what you think and show me how yours turns out! Read the rest of this entry

long-sleeve styling
Hey,
I thought I start something new and show you how I style the garments I made. Starting with the long-sleeve (how I styled it a few days ago):
Blouse: C&A
Pants: edc
belt: to old to remember
I know I am a somewhat crazy styler sometimes, but I thought I show you my stylings of the garments I was sewing anyways.
I’ll be posting new pictures of stylings when I am wearing hand-made garments.
All the best
