Jacket Part1: Pattern
Heyhey,
so when I let you vote what tutorial I should do next you voted for a dress, which I already did (link) and second place: a jacket. So a jacket is a big project, especially with lining, so I decided to split it up in parts, this way you can sew it along with me if you like. Ill get you new parts at least once a week. With this one I decided for a old burda-pattern
this one is no. 131 of burda magazine 1/2005. Maybe you pick an similar jacket, but even if yours is different lots of the things I show you with this jacket will apply to yours as well. and if there are any troubles with your jacket, that I dont explain with this one are most welcome, and I do my very best to answer them. cute elephant
Heyhey,
I made the elephant out of the rest of the fabric I used for the baby-pants. I had some troubles with this one, even though I really like making toys, but I think the end result is cute anyhow.
baby-pants, so cute :)
Heyhey,
the tutorial for the baby-pants I did for friends of mine, I had so much fun with it. When I get children one day they probably get most of their garments sewn by me. I hope I get some more opportunities to do kids and baby cloth till then
I used an burda pattern for this one. Hope you have fun with this!
new vest/waistcoat
Heyhey,
so here comes the tutorial for the vest/waistcoat I was wearing in this styling. It was fast and easy done, at the evening before the day I wanted to wear it. I started with the vest/waistcoat-pattern I used for my last minute costume. And used the fabric I also used for my curtains. I hope you like it.
vest/waistcoat pattern
Heyhey, so here you can see how I started with that pattern for my vests/waistcoats and how I changed it for different garments:

color-blocking-dress
Heyhey,
so here finally comes the tutorial for the dress. For this I used a pattern from Knipmode an sewing magazines I bought in the netherlands and no I dont speak the language;). Well if you like to do something like this you can use any dress-pattern without drats and just cut it into stripes to get an similar look.
my plans for the next weeks
Heyhey,
I sadly was a little busy lately but I have all good intentions to change that now. So I wanted to give you a short peek at whats to come next:
- You finally get the dress tutorial soon, its almoust finished.
- Then I have a tutorial for the vest I wore in this styling
- In a survey I asked what tutorials you would like me to do next, the dress was up first and in second place was a jacket, since this is a bigger project, I will split it up in parts and bring you the next steps every week.
- Next you can still vote if there will be a tutorial for pants and a tutorial on how to do a pants-pattern here.
- But first I will be sewing next the baby-outfit with this nice fabric, because the baby I am sewing it for, will be born any day now. Of course I will do a tutorial for this as well.
As always if you have problem or want to know how to sew something, leave a comment or write an email to tailorfairy(at)yahoo.com and I will try my best, to do an tutorial soon. Any other questions are also welcome.

styling of my test-pants
Heyhey,
so I finished my test pants and wanted to show them to you, its an slightly changed burda-pattern,
would you still like to have a tutorial just for the sewing part? Or do you prefer to also have a tutorial for how to do a pattern for pants? I only could do a tutorial on how you get the pattern of pants, that you already own and fit you well. I put a survey at the end of this post.
what I wore the other day:
pants: made by me
blouse: Imitz
vest: made by me (tutorial coming soon)
here the survey:

another 70s styling with my dolman/batwing sleeve
Heyhey,
so sorry I was quiet for a while, I am trying to do lots of things at the same time and fail. I am still working on my test-pants and the tutorial for the dress. The dress-tutorials takes that long because I wore it twice but
never took a picture of the finished garment. I washed it and its just drying so I can take the pictures soon and upload the tutorial.
Well this is what I am wearing today:
dolman/batwing sleeve: made by me (tutorial)
pants: made by me 2 or 3 years ago, based on a burda-pattern
what do you think?
