Pants part3: side-seams, waistband and belt loops
heyhey,
here is the next part of the pants. Pants are really not that difficult, so dont be scared.
I am already working on another based on the same pattern;) I will show you when I finished it.
pin and sew the facing to the back pants, also use your serger or an overedging stitch if your fabric requires it, my pattern gave that weird curve, so I redrew it straight, before sewing
and again overedging
pin and sew the side seams and inseam, also use overedging
then pin one waistband-part to the top of your pants, leave 1 cm seam allowance at each end and sew
starts looking like pants huh?
I wanted belt loops, so I could wear a belt to my pants, so I cut some strips about 5 cm wide
folded them in the middle
sew and turn around
I put the seam in the middle and pinned it in place, so when sewing it would stay in place
pin to the top of the waistband
I have 5 belt loops all around, sew them in place with some stitches within the seam allowance
then pin the other waistband-part face to fave to the other
also sew that 1 cm seam allowance you left open, cut the corners
and turn around, fold the seam allowance of the inner waistband up and pin it in place, and sew close to your original seam, so the seam wont be visible, your belt loops should stand up like mine
my belt loops were to long so I cut them
then fold the end inward and pin them in place and sew them
so your pants should look pretty finished by now;) button and hem coming next week and your pants are finished
any questions left? please leave me a comment and I answer soon.
keep sewing and smiling
