new dress = so much fun!
Heyhey,
so I actually didnt get all the things done, I wanted to do over the weekend. Well that should teach me to make more realistic plans.
Just I see that free weekend and I get so excited thinking of all the sewing projects I could do.
Well I finished a new dress (it actually was a very quick project) and its so much fun. I gonna wear it soon and show you how it looks on.
Fast and easy winter hats
Heyhey,
I have this one winter-hat I really like, because its long enough to go over my ears and it just fits great. But it is already more then 10 years old (see how great it is
) and it is blue, which is a nice color, but doesnt fit to well with most of the colors I wear and doesnt look to great with my red and brown winter-jacket. Neither with the still becoming winter-coat. Anyhow. Remember the 70s-sweater? I still had some of those nice knits and thought I just do twins of my old favorite hat in better fitting colors.

70s sweater
Heyhey,
as you notice my 70s phase is turning serious;) This sweater is something I made in one day, with a long break in the middle;)
70s skirt
heyhey,
so its a little embarrassing to admit, but I do like those 70s-german Schlager-movies. I own quite a few of them.
besides those nice funny stories with songs I also like them for the costumes. Remember I am in a seventies phase? and movies from that era are the best source of how people really dressed
, but I did buy those dvds before that phase…
Anyhow in one of those movies from ’71, named “Kinderarzt Dr. Fröhlich” the girl is wearing some nice skirts I liked. So I tried to copy them and this is my first. I really like it, even though I have to get used to the shortness, since I tried to make it really correct and even though I own short skirts, this feels a little shorter, but it looks good nonetheless and somehow it was ok to wear such short skirts in the 60s and 70s, so I will survive I guess… and make the next one (which I definitly will do) 5cm longer.

easy and fast no-pattern tank-tops
Heyhey,
so my sis wished for tanktops. So I made her some. I used cuff-fabric that comes knitted in a ring, so it does not need side-seams, especially since it comes in the right size for S/M women that does not like to wear very tight cloth. I did not use an pattern for this one, just an other tank-top I had and then changed it up according to her wishes. It is really easy and quick to do, and the knit fabric for cuffs is thicker and not so unforgiving as light jersey to sew. I only used zigzag-stitching of my normal household sewing machine and it worked just fine, so dont be scared of elastic fabric.

new vest/waistcoat
Heyhey,
so here comes the tutorial for the vest/waistcoat I was wearing in this styling. It was fast and easy done, at the evening before the day I wanted to wear it. I started with the vest/waistcoat-pattern I used for my last minute costume. And used the fabric I also used for my curtains. I hope you like it.
color-blocking-dress
Heyhey,
so here finally comes the tutorial for the dress. For this I used a pattern from Knipmode an sewing magazines I bought in the netherlands and no I dont speak the language;). Well if you like to do something like this you can use any dress-pattern without drats and just cut it into stripes to get an similar look.
no pattern batwing/dolman sleeve top
Heyhey,
so I got a wish to do a dolman/batwing sleeve top without a pattern. I hope I understood it right and this is what was hoped for.
I normally work with patterns, because I like to reuse them… if you draw directly on fabric you have to draw on every time you want to do a similar garment. Anyhow I hope you like my idea… I certainly like the finished garment
more tank tops
Heyhey,
finally finished my other tank-tops, sorry I kept you waiting. The pattern is the same as the other tank-top . For this one I also made a video, since half of you voted for a video-tutorial. You can still vote for the next tutorial/project here. I will start with the project with the most votes tomorrow
