I got asked how to do a moose-hat. So I tried my best, but it took a little more time then I thought, so I have to postpone the coat until tomorrow, so you can still vote for a sewing tutorial here. Please let me know what you prefer!
This is what I did for the moose-hat, I know my ears and antlers are not even, but they show how it works right? So I hope this is helpful for everyone still looking for a costume. Read the rest of this entry
So still according to the fur-trend for winter I made a bag out of the same material I used for the vest/waistcoat.
I enjoy making bags, because it is easy and useful and you can wear them with different outfits. I also love making bags of fake-fur because then you can also use them as a pillow and they are just feeling nice when looking for something inside.
So this is another trend this winter: clothes made of fur. I just love to work with fake-fur, especially if it has fake-leather on the other fabric-side, because this way you can do reversible garments and don’t need to worry about lining. It is also very soft and just a joy to handle, the only down part at fur is that if you cut it the hair from those new edges is flying around everywhere and also in your nose so you gonna sneeze some more, but thats why they invented the vacuum-cleaner.
And of course this vest/waistcoat is very warm and soft and perfect for winter.
I thought I give you a quick look at the vest/waistcoat I just finished sewing and will be uploaded as soon as I finished the video and wrote the recipe.
I hope you like what I came up with and look forward to the possibility to sew your own. I had fun doing it and wearing it now… but my floor and almost everything else around my workspace is very hairy now, because of the fake-fur.
Wishing you a great weekend!
All the best
