Welcome to my blog!
I am a fashion designer and tailor and started this blog in 2011 with the main focus on sewing tutorials. You find 5.5 years worth of tutorials on this site and if you have any request for a sewing-, knitting-, crafting-, patternmaking-tutorial, please do not hesitate to ask!!!
Nonetheless, since teaching to sew is now my daily work, I lost some of my excitement to post new tutorials regularly. So I broadened the focus to
- adventures: travels by bike, trains, feet, and what pieces of the world I (re)discover, sometimes just around the corner, sometimes farther away
- textiles: of course I am still crafting in my free time, so you’ll see projects I am working on and finished, sewing, knitting, crocheting, weaving and whatever else comes to mind
- pictures: I am still in love with analog photography, it helps me to see the small wonders in the world around me
English isn’t my native language, so please excuse any mistakes I’ll probably make. I hope you will still be able to understand me. I chose to do this blog in English because it is the language that most people learn or have to learn earlier or later in their life all over the world. My native language is German, I also know some Spanish and Danish. So if you have problems (like me sometimes) with special sewing words, look into my dictionary I’ll write down translations for them. If you don’t understand anything feel free to ask.
If you have weird links in your comments or try to spam, my anti-spam will delete the most from the start and if not I will delete it. Also, any comments using bad words or swearing or are in a foreign language will be deleted, be nice and polite and I look forward to nice discussions with you!

all the best
What a helpful website you’ve created! I look forward to exploring more, especially the upcycle/alterations section. Thank you for visiting my blog. 🙂
thank you, I am already collecting clothes from friends and family for more upcycles 😉
Hi TailorFairy. I’m in love with your site. I’m sure I’m going to pick up a lot of useful sewing tips and ideas here. May I link your blog to mine?
thank you, I am glad you like it! I am honored you like it so much, you want to tell your readers about it 🙂
What a fun blog. I think there can never be enough sewing tutorials/pages/blogs out there!
Thanks for liking my post, it means a lot to a first timer!
thank you! I hope everything with your new blog goes well, I remember how nervous I was.
Hi Tailor Fairy! My daughter would love to sew her own clothes, but we are having a lot of trouble adjusting clothes for a bust that is proportionally larger than the body the patterns are made for. Can you help us learn how to make these adjustments?
So her waist and shoulders need a smaller size then her bust? I could do a tutorial for that. Or did I misunderstand that? Then explain it again please and I will try to make a tutorial for the problem you have. So your daughter can soon make her own fitting clothes.
all the best
your TailorFairy
Your described in excatly right. She would wear about a size 10 on waist and hips, but a 36DD bust.
Sorry, I kept you waiting, uploaded a first tutorial now, if you need more or have questions about it please let me know! I hope it helps! https://tailorfairy.com/2012/08/21/if-your-cup-size-is-bigger-then-used-in-normal-clothing-sizes/
Is it how to adjust the pattern or also how to make alterations already bought? really would like to help you since I myself have some problems, with the clothes in most shops. If you want to you can also send me an email to tailorfairy(at)yahoo.com
We would like ot know how to adjust the patterns.
ok, I understand your problem, I will do an tutorial about that as soon as possible and hope that will help you 😉
Thank you for liking my post about My First Sewing Project. What an honor from someone like you! I wish I had discovered your blog even before I started. Then my stitches would probably not have been so bad… haha. But I’m glad you found me. I’m so blessed! May I check in here some time? I need all the help I can get and keep my excitement going! : )

Hi Tailor-Fairy! I will most definitely be back to your fab site. Many thanks for sharing your expert sewing tips. All the best. k
Thank you for your kind words! If you ever have a special problem please let me know and I will do my best to help.
Thanks for making this blog. I am a new stay at home mom and I would like to start making a couple of items in me and my daughters wardrobe. 🙂
Glad you like it! Let me know if you need help with anything specific!
I would like you to teach me to use my sewing machine when i get it
I would like to help with that, but that would be a little tricky. Sewing machines are all very similar, but also all different, so if I wanted to explain your sewing machine, I would need exactly the same machine. So its probably best you rely on your manual for that. 😉
Love your blog. Soooo happy I fell into it! Happy New Year! Best wishes, Koko:)
thank you! Happy new year to you too! Hope it will be a great year for you.
I’m hoping the same too! So far so good! Here’s to an amazing 2016 to you as well! 🙂
