Heyhey,
so open studios weekend came and went… sadly there were only a few people walking around looking into the studios, the same with mine. I did prepare way to much handbags for workshops. 2 kids made their own handbags today, which was a lot of fun, but they were the only ones who did. Some people liked my things, I normally sell on etsy. Some liked the idea of sewing classes, but nobody signed up. So the weekend was a little disappointing, but maybe all people who said they were interested really will sign up for classes in january, wish me luck;)

It is just a beginning 🙂 Celebrate! Give it a time – organise next one after few weeks. Now everyone is busy with Xmas – so some ideas around this topics.

Try to send some news-releases to local newspapers about this event…
Thank you. My studio is in a office building, so it wouldn’t work if only I did an open studios day… I have to wait until the others do the same… which will be in a year. And that with the advertisement is actually the problem, I have the feeling they didn’t any.
Still you can write short PR about this event. Such situation calls for other solutions… challenging – not impossible 😉
it is something I can think about next year.
It takes time to build a following. so, In January, after the crazed holiday season, follow up with those who expressed an interest, and hang in there – keep publicizing the studio and hosting similar events, it will catch on. In fact, I wish I lived near you as your classes would be great!
