Today started good, but I am not sure yet about the end… at least it is really the end, we are in a train on the way home.

I will share all that stats and numbers tomorrow, I can’t reach them without deloading Charlotte, for now just the report of today:

This morning packing and everything worked fine, I had a nice chat with the campground manager and then we started cycling at 10:30am.

For a while there was another bicycle touring couple on the same route. We had good wind for the first part of the way, but cycling felt good even when we turned into head winds. So we reached Marielyst easily.

So here I checked if we could reach the ferry in Gedser early enough to get back home today. And at first I thought, I wouldn’t dare to try.

But pedaling the next km, I started to change my mind. I had a good day and was fast. The main problem was that I would habe only 1 hour to get from the ferry in Rostock to the main station to catch the train. Well I got more confident by the minute and decided to just try it.

The ferry was a little late, so I had even less time in Rostock for those 12km. But we started well and would have made it, when it sounded like a little explosion followed by a pfffffff… and Charlotte’s back tire was flat again. So I had to push her for 5 more km, before we reached the train station. But I took some pictures for you:

Now we had to wait for the next train and had some nice talks with curious people.

We are finally in the train now, which was also late, and probably be home at 1am, if we get the final underground train. fingers crossed.

As I said, all stats and numbers will be up tomorrow, when I have got some sleep.
