Heyhey,
here is the step-by-step how I made my chair-covers:
first I measured around the backrest of my chairs and from the top down, plus a few cm for fasteners and hem, then I added seam allowance all around and cut an rectangle with those measurements (you can admire my chaos in this picture, because I forgot to crop 😉 )
now I sewed the side and the top together, cut the seam allowance at the corner, and ironed the seam allowance apart
and then turned the right side out
so I could do a fitting. chairs are great models: all day long the same size and very patient while fittings 🙂
for the hem I ironed 1cm inwards
and the folded and ironed the rest of the hem inwards
and sewed the hem
and another fitting for the placements of the press fasteners
now I added my press fasteners
my finished cover!
I am really happy my chairs look colorful now and not black anymore. What do you think?

The print is my own design, spoonflower printed it on cotton-linen-canvas for me, you can order it on this or other fabrics here.
