cycle-to-work-backpack

Moin,

so as mentioned in my post about the small bag, the big bag I used for pretty much everything started to rip and I had to sew a new one. Since I was already thinking of switching to bike-riding for my way to work (I took the bus before) I decided to sew myself a backpack.

if I knew back then I would get the chance to use an embroidery machine and get this cute bicycle, I would have stitched it right on the original fabric… maybe even with reflexing or fluorescent thread. So now I patched it on the there with some button badges… some of them are reflexive. πŸ˜‰ I believe in making myself on my bike seen πŸ˜‰

I used 2 golden zippers that meet in the middle, so I never have to look for them and I also can open just a small hole in the middle

as you know I carry quite some stuff around with me, so it had to be big

on the outside, I used faux leather and some upholstery-fabric and as a lining this fun green-golden jacquard… which isn’t very practical, but pretty πŸ˜‰

I used 2 different interlinings, to get it soft but sturdy, StyleVil and H630 by Freudenberg.

As always I have some inner pockets in my lining to have a least a little bit of an idea, what I have in my bag, and where it is.

What do you think? Did you ever try to sew a backpack?

keep sewing and smiling
