Moin
Today I took some trains to Kiel to pick up my new bamboo touring bicycle.
So packing was a challenge: I had to pack everything this way that I could carry it around well on myself, but have everything with me to also put it on the bicycle later.
So this is everything I carried:
After I finally reached the my-boo-headquarters, my back hurt quite a bit, but then I got to see my new bicycle and test it. š The more bent over posture compared to Leif is something that will take some getting used to by me š And I think I will make some tiny adjustments in the future, but all in all, we fit well.
Then we added those clip-in things to my shoes, I packed everything on the new bicycle, Button first of course, and we went out way … or at least I thought so, but after trying for some minutes to click into the pedals, I decided I would learn that later and just use the platform-side for now.
Luckily I found the Velo-Route everyone had told me about pretty easy, but then the hard part started. When crossing a street there was no sign which street we have been crossing, so I pedalled way too far and had to ask for directions. When I just turned to cycle back, I accidentally clicked into one pedal, had to stop for another crossing, did not get my foot out of the pedal… and almost fell, luckily I got my foot loose before the bicycle fell. So we already managed our first crash. I will have to spend some time figuring that clicking-in out. But we managed to reach the family friend’s house, where we are staying tonight to cycle back tomorrow.
Over all that I totally forgot to take a picture of the new bicycle, so this one is at night, but at least a quick peek for you:
I will take some better ones tomorrow. And show you how it looks after my first customizations.
By the way: I paid the same prize anyone would for this bicycle.
keep exploring and smiling
