Knipmode sewing mag impressions

heyhey,

I am just wondering if it is ok, if I write a review about a magazine in a language i dont speak. 😉 Knipmode is written in netherlands and I often can guess what written words mean, but I dont know any of the language. But I like the sewing magazine, and I find that you do not need to know the language if you dont read directions for patterns in whatever language they come in. 😉  Maybe you remember my color blocking dress? I made that with a pattern out of the issue of knipmode I bought in april and the only time language was a trouble has been to know if seam allowance was included. Well when I came back from Oregon, I had 5 hours in Shipohl and what did I do? Buy the october issue 😉

Knipmode is a magazine that comes with pattern sheets, in this issue are 32 patterns included. In total there are 4 collections for “standard-sizes” and 1 in “bigger-sizes”, I dont mean to be disrespectful its just the way the fashion industry works, if thats good or bad is a discussion for another time 😉, they have 4 knitting patterns for winter accessoires like hats and scarfs. Also they explain with drawing how to attach pockets, like those on the back of pants, which is really helpful, if you arent sure how to do that. What I really like, especially if you show patterns and stylings to people not used to sewing, are the pictures of how different the same top and pants look depending what fabrics you use. I dont know if you experienced the same, but I often get told: I kinda like this, but the color is terrible. Just for picking a pattern. 😉 Then there are some ideas how to decorate your home with your own crafting and something else I also like: they put the pieces of the different collection together to new styles. 🙂

So all in all a great magazine worth checking out, and if you are a little experienced the language really isn’t any trouble. This issue did came with an extra mag, with another collection and 11 patterns, so the prize of 8.20€ isn’t to bad, considering you get in total 43 patterns. But of course with that prize you should at least like the style of some patterns included. 😉
