Heyhey,
here are the next steps for the maxi skirt with pockets, the first part can be found here. Dont forget to vote for the october drawings!
next I pinned 2 skirt parts together and the the parts with pockets to each side of those 2
the pockets are to the side, then I sewed
then I pinned 2 more parts on one side and the last 2 on the other, sewed and serged all seams
also serged the open edges of the centre back. I normally forget that and then serge after I put the zip in, which is way more annoying, so I am proud of me for remembering it this time!
then I sewed the seam up until where the zip gets in and that part with wide stitching
ironed the seam allowance apart, and the rest of the seams while at it 😉
now I pinned the zipper under the seam
sewed around
unpicked the wide stitching
and tested the zipper
next I pinned the hem, by double folding it inwards
and sewed.
I hope this was helpful! Let me know if there are any questions! I am still learning to write helpful tutorials, so all questions help me get better at it.
next monday I show you how I did the waistband.
keep sewing and smiling

My dearest Tailor Fairy,
your work is inspiring. I love vintage fashion, too and although i’ve never learned sewing professionally, I try my best to sew similar things. Maybe you like my new vintage maxiskirt? ❤

Thank you! I really love the fabric you used for your skirt, such a fun retro print!
