how to sew a blouse-top: first seams and zipper

Heyhey,

so wordpress really does not like me today, I just wrote this whole post and then they had some troubles and now I have to do it again. 😦 Anyhow this are finally the next steps for the blouse top (first steps can still be found here.)

DSCF6574 I overlocked all edges and overlocked the facings to front and back parts

DSCF6575then I pinned the front top part to the front middle part, looking to match up the lines (which sadly did not work at that seam)

DSCF6576then pinned the low front part to the middle front part, matching up the lines again

DSCF6577I also pinned the sleeves, matching lines on the top seam, on the inside it  was not possible, and since it is not a very visible seam I did not care

DSCF6578then pinned the back pieces together, again carefully matching up the stripes

DSCF6607sewed and ironed sam allowance apart

DSCF6608same with front and back parts

DSCF6609burda says I should put an invisible zipper in, since I did not have one in a fitting color, I decided to use a normal zipper

DSCF6610and pinned the left side-seam (if your left handed use the right side seam) matching up lines

DSCF6611then sewed the first 2-3 cm at the armhole with normal stitching and then the rest with really wide stitching

DSCF6612ironed seam allowances apart

DSCF6613marked the 2 cm hem allowance

DSCF6614and placed the zipper according to that mark

DSCF6615pinned in place

DSCF6616and then pinned all around the zipper from the right side

DSCF6617sewed around it and then unpicked the wide stitching

DSCF6618well, its not invisible but well hidden.

I hope this was helpful for you! Do not hesitate to ask, if you have any questions!

keep sewing and smiling
