spring cleaning my sewing space 1

Moin,

I am in a Minimalists kind of phase at the moment. 😉  I don’t know about you, but as much I like collecting, I also really like decluttering and minimizing my possessions. I guess it has something to do with me moving so many times. I look at things a little different because I also know how difficult they are to move with, which makes you question if the stuff is worth its weight. 😉 Another thing triggering this was probably starting my packing list for my bike adventure and noticing how little it is you really need.

Anyway,  I already got through my other rooms and I finally get to tackle my “hobby room”. I have to admit, I never got that far in my previous decluttering phases… so it is kind of bad.

Don’t think too badly of me when showing you my before pictures:

So the only way you get it all and keep it organized is to start in one corner and mover around the room. So this is what I did and started with this:

sadly I forgot to take a before picture, as you might imagine there was no free space.

those are UFOs  I haven’t looked at for over 3 years, so I got rid of the most, and only kept 2 I really still would like to finish

oh, so much space 🙂 what to fill it with?

maybe my test-prints from Spoonflower which I have to do for every new design?

Guess what? That was a wonderful idea because while putting it orderly in its new place I found this:

What I had all forgotten about, but is so great, because one of my potholders looks like this:IMG_0035

and now I can replace it without any troubles. 🙂

I’ll keep you updated, how my cleaning/minimizing/decluttering will go. Let’s see what else I can find.

So one question remains: Is this about textiles or an adventure?

keep sewing, exploring and smiling
