adventure preparation 4

Moin,

this is a weekly post series about me preparing for a bicycle tour. If you want to read from the beginning and didn’t already do so, you can still find the posts here: the idea, the planned tour, and some of my gear.

Well, this week I started a packing list with weights of each item.

This way it will be easier to – if needed – reduce the weight, and distribute it evenly to the panniers and the front basket. Since my back racket says it can carry 25kg and the front 10kg, my absolute maximum will be 35kg. But I plan to stay within 15-20kg. First, because lighter load means lighter pedaling, second because I still need some space/weight for food and such…

it’s not finished, but this is what I got so far: (some things you find in my last post, about my gear, if you want to look at it)

I am sorry for some German on the list, I thought I had it all translated. (I used “Numbers” by Apple for this)

Anyway, this is what I got so far, but I am still adding to the list, we will see if I have to get some things off the list in the end.

Any tips or experiences for my planning?

Another thing I was thinking about this week:

Of course, I am planning to blog on my tour. To make it easier, short and still interesting for you, I thought about writing in my daily posts about the same things.

For example:

  • how many km cycled
  • weather conditions
  • best moment
  • worst moment
  • Buttons favorite place of the day

What do you think? What would you like to know about my day, when on my bicycle tour?

keep exploring and smiling

your Fairy
