how to sew a dress: first seams

Heyhey,

here are the next steps for the dress (part1, part2)

DSCF6789I cut the collar of a really soft fusible interlining

DSCF6790twice

DSCF6791and ironed it onto the wrong side of the fabric

DSCF6792the fabric still felt pretty soft, so I decided to also add fusible interlining to the button facings (I used Vlieselina H180)

DSCF6793also ironed it onto the wrong side

DSCF6794while doing so I noticed I cut the facing twice, even though I only needed each once. but I kept the other ones just in case I mixed up right and left again

DSCF6795I pinned the paper pattern back to the fabric pieces to keep them in order

DSCF6796then I pinned the seams of the sleeve facings together

DSCF6797and the seams of the sleeves

DSCF6798the centre back seam

DSCF6799and the facings

DSCF6800each to the (hopefully right) front part

well thats how far I got, I hope this was helpful for you! Let me know if you have any questions!

keep sewing and smiling
