Naturlandet Rundt – cycling for my mental health day 2

Moin

Charlotte, Button and I are finally on the road again. We are cycling the Naturlandet Rundt. It is an 8 around the Danish Islands Lolland and Falster. You can read about the full trip here: day0, day1

Today I took a lot of pictures, I hope you enjoy them!

The day started with sunshine, maybe that is why I was running late in the morning again. Around 10:30 am I had finished packing, but still needed to put sun-lotion on and do laundry. Which I finished around 11 am. Then I had a nice chat with another camper from Germany and when I finally wanted to start my bicycle computer froze and I had to restart it. So I left the Campground at 11:15 am.

First of I was cycling through a forrest. (I knew this part of today from day9 of last year’s tour.) And only 20 minutes later I took my first break. When I am leaving that late so much time already past since breakfast.

4.2km in 21:52 min with an average speed of 11.6 km/h.

For the next 15 km we cycled through more forrests. Which are nice, because they shield you from the wind, but do not have that many benches for breaks. I just took 2 quick pictures of the houses that also have plants on the walls, not just the roof:

Now it was back to the coast and back in the wind which was kind today, coming from the side or the back. But I just had to take a break, even though it was just beside the road:19km in 1:36 h with an average speed of 11.7 km/h

While standing there I got passed by a lot bicycle tourists. Shortly later I had to snap another picture:

Then we cycled into Stubbekøbing and saw all the other bicyclist waiting for the ferry. Just like us last year. Maybe that should have told me something: From this point on there were no more signs for the Naturlandet Rundt. So I had to find my way with my not very detailed map and the Naturlandet App. But first a break in Stubbekøbing:

26.4km in 2:13 h with an average speed of 11.8 km/h.

Next was the already mentioned battle to find the way and then the Shelterplads. It is pretty hidden and looks like nobody found it for a while. I have it all to myself, there is only a danish couple with a RV at the parking lot.

We cycled today:

34.1km

Total km: 62.1

2:52:25h moving Charlotte

average speed: 11.9km/h

max speed: 25.7km/h

840m of climbing and 836m of descending

Starting point: N 54°44,430′ O 12°01,709′

End: N 54°54,890′ O 11°58,909′

money spent:

35 DKK for the campground

I am not sure what happened with the look of the writing, I hope you can still read it well. I do not know what to do to make it look normal.

I will be writing again tomorrow so you can pedal along with us! Do you have any questions? Requests?

keep exploring and smiling

The translation for my english readers: I got asked what I do with my seat-cover when it rains. If I could take it off.
My answer is that I could take it off, but I never did. If it is raining I just decide I can live with a wet behind when everything else is already wet anyhow. And I crocheted the cover out of polyester-yarn, so it dries up really fast.
