Cycling with depression day 6

Moin

Charlotte, Button and I are cycling the Danish Baltic Bicycle Route. (Day0, Day1, Day2, Day3, Day4, Day5)

Friday, the 13th, anyone superstitiuous? The day for me was fine. Even though the end was not so good.

There was rain forecast for today, starting at 10am. So I tried to have anything packed up by then. And not a moment to early. Bz 10:30 am everything was waterproof and loaded on Charlotte and we left the campground. The way went right next to the coast until Rødbyhavn. The wind was still strong and came from the side and sometimes from the side-back. So for some km of this 29km it was like sailing. The rest was like fighting to stay on course. 😉

I only took 2 quick breaks on this part, just because the rain and/or wind made it uncomfortable.

In Rødbyhavn the really big ferrys from Fehmarn (Germany) arrive, and we saw a few of them coming and leaving on our way there. Did you know they even put trains on this ferrys?

Anyways, I took my first longer break there and then cycled on, mostly on a path I supposed was a train track once. It was a little like a green tunnel, but the trees on both sides at least kept the wind at bay.

Reaching the campground in Maribo I kind of lost my good mood. The Tent-space is an uneven field, which seems to used to walk dogs. There is poo everywhere. And it is at the other side of the campground as the facilities. And when I said that to the woman checking me in, she said I could cycle to the toilets…

Well, anyways, tomorrow I will be doing something like a rest day. I considered doing a full rest day here, before I reached this place, but now I will do this: After packing up, I will take some time and look at Maribo, which supposedly is a pretty town and shop for some supplies. Then I will only do 12 km to the next campground and hope that will be better.

We cycled today:

~52 km

Total km on this tour so far: ~211km

money spent:

130 DKK for the campground

I will be writing again tomorrow so you can pedal along with us!

If there is anything you would like to know about, please do not hesitate to ask. I am happy to include your interest in my reports if possible.

keep exploring and smiling

your Fairy
