Cycling with depression day 15

Moin

Charlotte, Button, and I are cycling the Danish Baltic Bicycle Route. (Day0, Day1, Day2, Day3, Day4, Day5, Day6, Day7, Day8, Day9, Day10, Day11, Day12, Day13, Day14)

Another short day that did not feel as short. That train ride did stress me a lot.

yesterday before I went to sleep I took this picture:

I am happy to report my pegs withstood the wind and my tent was standing all through the night. I had tickets for the train at 12:31 pm, so the morning should have been relaxed. But being so worried about the train, deciding to pack differently, and not doing laundry in the morning, I still finished packing at 10:30 am.

I packed all small but heavy things into my backpack, hoping I would be able to move Charlotte up and into a train with stairs then. So my setup was a little different today. Since staying around at the campground also would not help, we cycled to the train station. Where I first waited outside and then on the right platform.

As I was quite early I watched 2 trains stop before mine got there and so I saw, there really are stairs into the wagons. When my train got there I had to do a little sprint towards the right wagon, with a reserved place for Charlotte… which was taken up by sitting humans. But anyway, we would never have made it into the train if the conductor/train guard/ticket inspector did not help. Within the 11 minutes, he never looked at our tickets though, but he also helped with getting off.

Outside of the train station, I had to calm down again and take a break and spent it calling my mum.

Then I cycled through Nyborg, missed one sign once, but luckily noticed it soon and got out of the city. Now the up and down of the hills started again… Sometimes you get payed with a view like this though…

The blue below the sky is the Baltic Sea.

We cycled through some nice towns, one with a resting spot just for bicyclists:

But I only stayed for a short snack, since I really needed to get to a toilet. 😉

A few km later I reached my campground for the night. It is a cute one, with most people living here or spending all their weekends here. But they have this nice piece of grass right next to the toilets and showers… and it is the lowest price yet.

The woman showing me around only knows very little English but even offered that I could use her fridge.

We cycled/walked today:

~24 km

Total km on this tour so far: ~506km

money spent:

120 DKK for the campground last night

75 DKK for this nights campground

I will be writing again tomorrow so you can pedal along with us!

If there is anything you would like to know about, please do not hesitate to ask. I am happy to include your interest in my reports if possible.

keep exploring and smiling

your Fairy
